The exhibition circuit

The trade circuit is not marketing support. It is the market.
For an architecture or design brand in India, the trade circuit is not marketing support. It is the market.
Specifiers, architects, press and buyers all arrive in the same week, walk the same floor and form impressions in about eight seconds per stand. A brand that photographs beautifully on Instagram can look thin in person, and the reverse is just as true.
I represented client brands on that floor and coordinated their presence across the calendar.
- Representation
Standing on the floor for Dimensions Furniture and Luxaddi at India Design: speaking for the brand, handling press and specifier conversations, and qualifying the people worth following up.
- Coordination
Presence across Index Plus, Darc, WADE Asia and Ace Reflect: timelines, collateral, assets and the sequence of things that have to be right before doors open.
- Collateral
Print, signage and takeaways that match the brand's digital identity rather than contradicting it, which is the most common failure at trade shows.
- Award submissions
Preparing entries including IIID 2025, where the discipline is writing about design work for judges who design for a living.

A stand is a brand’s only chance to be experienced at full size. Everything else is a photograph of it.
In categories built on material, there is no substitute for standing in front of the thing.
Digital-first strategy is correct almost all of the time, and this is the exception. In categories built on material, weight, finish and light, there is no substitute for a person standing in front of the thing.
The strategic question is not whether to exhibit. It is what the stand is for, and whether the brand has decided that before the budget is committed.
